CAMP CHASE, OHIO



James Leon Windham photographed the gravestones of eleven of the twelve 38th Alabama veterans buried at Camp Chase. Not pictured is James T. Northrup, Co B.These men are only a small fraction of the 2035 Confederate soldiers buried there.


B.T. Windham (photo bottom right) is a great uncle of the photographer. He was only 16 years old when captured in the battle of Nashville, turned 17 on February 5, and died on February 28.
