Pvt. Charles W. Phillips was a Native American and was buried outside the cemetery fence due to his race. He is now buried at Gaddies' Chapel Cemetery just north of Jackson, Alabama, on Walker Springs Road. He was unmarked and a stone was erected in 2009 by local historians.

5th Sergeant J. I. Kelley, Company D, is buried at New Hope Cemetery No. 2 on the Pleasant Hill Road in Clarke County.
